Jackson Heights, New York buzzed with excitement on December 10th, as neighborhood locals & basketball fans gathered outside Pio Pio’s Peruvian Restaurant where Jalen himself was given the honor of cutting the ribbon for their new mural. In a unique collaboration between DoorDash, Pio Pio, the New York Knicks, and Jalen Brunson, the special ribbon cutting ceremony celebrated the unveiling of Brunson’s new mural.
As a gesture of gratitude to attendees, DoorDash gifted guests complimentary DoorDash merchandise. Attendees also had the chance to win 2 tickets to a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden or a signed Jalen Brunson Knicks jersey. Guests also indulged in Peruvian delicacies that Pio Pio had to offer.
The mural now stands as a lasting reminder of the special day the neighborhood came together to celebrate a player, a team, and most importantly the community.
