Earlier this month, our very own Sandra M. Brunson was honored at the 15th Anniversary Celebration of Every Mother Counts in New York City, where she was named one of their “Mothers of the Year” alongside Alysia Montaño and Chelsea Clinton.
Founded by Christy Turlington Burns, Every Mother Counts is a global nonprofit committed to making pregnancy and childbirth safe, respectful, and equitable for all. Sandra’s recognition reflects a shared commitment between our organizations—supporting mothers, families, and communities that are often underserved and overlooked.
At the Second Round Foundation, we serve communities that are often overlooked—families navigating limited resources, systemic inequities, and daily challenges. Our mission aligns closely with that of Every Mother Counts: to support the most vulnerable with care, dignity, and opportunity.
The evening was a powerful celebration of motherhood and impact, filled with music, inspiration, and heartfelt community. We’re incredibly proud to see Sandra’s leadership and legacy acknowledged on such a meaningful stage, and even more excited about the work ahead.
Congratulations, Sandra—and thank you for continuing to lead by example.
