We are proud to share that Second Round Foundation co-founder Jalen Brunson, a proud Stevenson High School alum just concluded hosting his 5th annual youth basketball camp from July 24th-26th, 2023. The 3-day camp welcomed 75-85 aspiring young players in each session.
As a former Illinois Mr. Basketball and state champion with the Patriots, Jalen established the Jalen Brunson Skills Academy to give back to the program that developed him into an elite player and leader. Now with the New York Knicks, Jalen was a 2-time NCAA champion at Villanova and the 2018 NCAA Player of the Year.
The co-ed camp for 6th-8th graders provided hands-on instruction at skill stations and games run by Jalen as well as a team of current and former Stevenson players and coaches. Each session focused on fundamentals like shooting, dribbling, defense and teamwork.
Additionally, Jalen led a question and answer session with campers about life in the NBA. He emphasized the importance of hard work, determination and teamwork in achieving your goals.
Jalen has hosted the sold-out camp at Stevenson High School since 2018, with all proceeds from the Jalen Brunson Skills Academy fund scholarships to Stevenson graduating seniors via JMB1 Enterprises, LLC.
