NBA All-Star Weekend is always a special time for the Brunson family, but this year, it was about more than just celebrating Jalen Brunson’s well-deserved recognition as an NBA All-Star. Sandra Brunson, CFO of the Second Round Foundation (SRF), was also honored for her leadership and dedication to empowering young people and families through her work with the foundation.
“A Moment For Moms,” was a special event hosted by Courtside Moms Media Productions in partnership with 23andMe, where Sandra was awarded the All-Star Award. A recognition of nonprofit organizations founded and led by mothers within the basketball community. The event, held at Alchemy Springs Spa in San Francisco, brought together trailblazing women who have used their platforms to uplift others, drive positive change, and provide life-changing opportunities.
In her remarks, Sandra reflected, “I was deeply honored and humbled to accept the Courtside Moms Productions’ All-Star Award on behalf of Second Round Foundation. This recognition highlights our impactful work in support of under-resourced children and young adults. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue our mission of empowering and uplifting those in need, and we thank Courtside Moms Productions for acknowledging the dedication of our team and community. This award serves as a reminder of the importance of planting seeds of empathy that can nourish positive change and provide necessary support to brighten a child’s future. We look forward to continuing our work with even more passion and commitment.”
As part of the event, each honoree had the opportunity to showcase their organization’s impact through a special video presentation, highlighting SRF’s ongoing commitment to education, youth development, and community outreach.
The Second Round Foundation is grateful to Courtside Moms Media Productions and 23andMe for celebrating the efforts of mothers in basketball and for providing a platform to highlight the power of giving back. This recognition serves as further motivation to continue expanding SRF’s reach and ensuring more young people receive the tools they need to thrive.
